Kaat Peeters

Belgium, Flanders

Director of the association ‘Sociale Innovatiefabriek’

What do I do?

Two years ago, Kaat started as director of the Flemish (BE) association “Sociale Innovatiefabriek”. This association does promote, stimulate and facilitate social innovation and social entrepreneurship throughout Flanders and Brussels. Focus is laid on main social challenges such as poverty, climate change, loneliness and urbanization. Associations as well as enterprises can engage with this “Social Innovation Factory”, that  further refines concepts, provides expertise, a network, as well as access to innovation funding. You can discover more about their work in the small movie: https://vimeo.com/77689983 or read it in: http://www.politeia.be/nl-be/book/social-innovation-factory-accelerating-social-innovation/SOCIAL958Z.htm

Formerly, Kaat was several years active as director of the support center for amateur arts, she worked at the ministry of Culture and has been working as cultural coördinator for a council. Meanwhile, Kaat ran a shop in Persian and Arabic interior objects and a Bed&Breakfast in the center of Ghent, the medieval city where she still lives. Currently, Kaat provides rehearsal spaces at her house. As volunteer, Kaat sits on several boards of cultural associations and an art school.
